This 8-half day class in June from 15-18 and 22-25, covers the latest developments in MSIX packaging and will provide you with both, theory and practical hands-on experience in our hands-on training labs. \n\n\n\nSome highlights of what you will learn:\n\n\n\n\nBest practices for repackaging applications\n\n\n\nExperience with the best MSIX tools available, including the Microsoft MSIX Packaging Tool, PsfTooling, TMEditX, and more.\n\n\n\nHow to debug Windows Applications\n\n\n\n\nWho is it for?\nThis class is  for those who are interested in preparing/packaging Windows Applications for enterprise deployment as MSIX and/or AppAttach packages.\n\n\n\n\nPre-requisites\nThe course is designed for people with a general background in IT and/or Packaging. We take students with or without prior experience in MSIX who want to learn about the best techniques to repackage applications into MSIX and App Attach.\n\n\n\nThere are no hard pre-requisites to be able to take the class, however, the following are helpful:\n\n\n\n\nExperience with other “packaging” techniques helpful.\n\n\n\nExperience with general IT administration and Windows Troubleshooting.\n\n\n\n\nStudents will be required to bring their own laptop, which will be used to remote into virtual machines provided by the class.\n\n\n\n\nEach student will receive two books for the class, the Concepts book containing information on the technology and Windows, and the Packaging book with hand-on lab instructions.\n\n\n\nEach student will be provided access to two Windows VMs to work with, one to package and one to test.\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Content\nA 4-day (in-person) hands-on class where you will learn the concepts, techniques, and latest tricks to be successful and packaging and configuring applications for delivery within the Enterprise using Microsoft MSIX.\n\n\n\nWhether you use modern or traditional application delivery methods, the applications your company depends on must be customized, and in many cases remediated to work in today’s desktops. MSIX is the future for new applications, and while not all traditional applications will work in the MSIX container, this class will give you the ability to get the most application compatibility possible today.\n\n\n\n1. Concepts of Packaging\n\n\n\n\nPrincipals and rules of Packaging\n\n\n\nFilter Drivers, Function hooking, and Dll Injection\n\n\n\nMSIX technology overview\n\n\n\nPrincipals of Redirection and Copy-on-Write\n\n\n\nAnatomy of an installer package and the Windows API\n\n\n\n\n2. Overview of Delivery Options\n\n\n\n\nIncluding Configuration Manager, Intune, App Attach, PowerShell, and 3rd Party Managers.\n\n\n\n\n3. Fundamentals of the MSIX Package Format and Runtime\n\n\n\n4. Setting up VMs for Packaging and Testing\n\n\n\n\nSetting up a MSIX Capture Station\n\n\n\nSetting up a “Smoke Test” Station\n\n\n\n\n5.
